Room service is third on my list of favorite things. Birthday cake is first. Sex is second. And then room service. Room service is better than having a mother. You order what you want and they bring it to your door, guilt-free, no strings attatched. Pretty amazing right?
I failed math twice, never fully grasping probability theory. I mean, first off, who cares if you pick a black ball or a white ball out of the bag? And second, if you’re bend over about the color, don’t leave it to chance. Look in the damn bag and pick the color you want.

“Who’s Celia?” I asked Ranger.
My sister. Marty Sanchez, the guy by the van, went to school with Celia. They dated for a while.”
“Is she your only sister?”
“I have four sisters.”
“Any brothers?”
“One.”
“And you have a daughter,” I said.
Ranger swung the truck onto the paved road. “Not many people know about my daughter.”
“Understood. Do I get to ask more questions?”
“One.”
“How old are you?”
“I’m two months older than you,” Ranger said.
“You know my birthday?”
“I know lots of things about you. And that was two questions.”
Ranger gave me one of his rare full-on smiles. “I like you. We all like you.” He grabbed me by the front of my shirt, lifted me two inches off the ground, and kissed me. “The truth is, I love you… in my own way.” He set me back down and turned to go.
